With Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Season 1 off and running, it's perhaps no surprise that many seem to be having performance issues considering the new live-service game has only been out for roughly two weeks.
For those looking to get a smooth experience in the new game, here's a breakdown of why Warzone 2 is so laggy.
Why is Warzone 2 So Laggy?
First and foremost, the most common culprit for a laggy experience has to do with your connection to the game's servers. It's important to recognize that Ping and network issues are a two-way street, meaning you will have to check and make sure that your internet is working properly, as well as the game's servers. Of course, being that the game is still new, its servers should only get better over time.
Beyond that, for those on PC, it's crucial to know that your game isn't dipping in frame rate sporadically and getting at least above 60 FPS consistently. As was the case with the original Warzone, Warzone 2 isn't an easy game to run in general, so it's extremely important to be running the game with the latest drivers installed and the right graphics settings. One setting that particularly seems to be important at the moment is having your Spot Cache set to High.
Lastly, keep in mind that if you're in a party with a host who plays from a different region, you're likely going to experience lag since you're not on your default servers.
