Recently, an Apex Legends player has discovered a brand new animation for the new Valkyrie "Suzaku" Heirloom.
The heirloom was released with the start of the Awakening Event. After players unlock the previous 24 cosmetics, the heirloom is rewarded.
Each heirloom has its own special animations, but recently an Apex Legends player has discovered a second animation for Valkyrie's Heirloom.
When Valkyrie puts her weapon away, her heirloom staff is taken out. Typically, the staff is held with two hands and when you sprint, the staff is held in an overhand grip with just one hand. When she takes out the staff, there normally isn't an animation. But in the video above, there is a strange new animation. A shotgun animation
As you can see when Valkyrie takes out her staff, she does an animation seen when you pump a shotgun. Right after, you can see a small blast of blue while the staff recoils a little bit.
In one comment under the Reddit video from u/Eionceal, u/Po1yphic mentions that the recoil movement is similar to the Mastiff shotgun, and the blue lights that appear are similar to the Peacekeeper.
This is a very small detail that most will miss at first. With no context, it looks like a glitch where Valkyrie pumps a shotgun, but her staff is out instead. But, the blue lights that appear after her staff "shoots", show that this is an intended secret animation and not a glitch.
