Two of the reigning Valorant Champions 2022 winners, Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi and Bryan "pANcada" Luna, have officially signed with Sentinels, the North American esports organization announced Saturday.
The signing of the star Brazilian duo effectively rounds out Sentinels' starting roster for 2023 VCT International League competition.
With the number of North American organizations eligible to compete in the 2023 VCT Americas League limited to just five, it appears Sentinels has just taken a giant step in establishing the new normal — a superteam comprised of players from both North and South America.
Sacy and pANcada, the former Initiator and Controller players for LOUD, respectively, will join Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, Zachary "zekken" Patrone and Rory "dephh" Jackson in the lineup.
Former XSET head coach Don "SyykoNT" Muir and former Ghost Gaming head coach Adam "kaplan" Kaplan will team up to handle the coaching duties.
Of the aforementioned names, the only move that has yet to receive an official announcement is the addition of dephh, though it has been previously reported as a done deal by Dot Esports.
Being that all 30 of the partnered teams competing in the 2023 VCT International Leagues must field at least six players, it remains to be seen whether or not the substitute role for SEN will be filled by Michael "dapr" Gulino or another player.
The offseason has proven surprisingly rocky for LOUD, as the defending champs have lost Sacy, pANcada and former head coach Matheus "bzkA" Tarasconi.
Per The Enemy, LOUD is set to retain its core of Erick "aspas" Santos, Matias "saadhak" Delipetro and Felipe "Less" de Loyola, and is in advanced talks to acquire two Brazilian players in Cauan "cauanzin" Pereira of Ninjas in Pyjamas and Arthur "tuyz" Vieira of TBK as replacements.
The 2023 Sentinels Valorant roster is:
