All Raid Bosses in Pokemon GO August 2022
This month, the five-star raid bosses include Palkia, Genesect (Chill Drive), Zacian and Zamazenta. Each will hold the boss position for one week before cycling out for the next — except in the case of Zacian and Zamacenta, who will both be in place for the last two weeks of the month.
One-star Raid Bosses
There are six one-star raid bosses this month, including the Pokémon GO World Championship-inspired Pikachu (Worlds Costume):
- Barboach
- Galarian Farfetch'd
- Marill
- Pikachu (Worlds Costume)
- Scraggy
- Timburr
Three-star Raid Bosses
There are three three-star Raid bosses this month:
- Lickitung
- Primeape
- Skarmory
Five-star Raid Bosses
Five-star bosses for the month will change according to the following schedule:
- July 31-Aug. 10: Palkia
- Aug. 10-18: Genesect (Chill Drive)
- Aug. 18-31: Zacian
- Aug. 18-31: Zamazenta
Palkia is a dual Water and Dragon-type Pokémon, which makes it weak only to Dragon and Fairy-types. It's also especially resistant to Steel, and double resistant to Fire and Water-Types. Its best counters are:
- Dialga (Dragon Breath + Draco Meteor)
- Rayquaza (Dragon Tail + Outrage)
- Salamence (Dragon Tail + Draco Meteor)
- Zekrom (Dragon Breath + Outrage)
Genesect (Chill Drive) is a Bug and Steel-type Pokémon. It's vulnerable to Fire attacks, but resistant to Normal, Bug, Steel, Psychic, Ice, Dragon and Fairy attacks. It's especially resistant to Poison and Grass attacks. Its best counters are:
- Reshiram (Fire Fang + Overheat)
- Chandelure (Fire Spin + Overheat)
- Darmanitan (Standard) (Fire Fang + Overheat)
- Volcarona (Fire Spin + Overheat)
Zacian is a Fairy-type Pokémon, so it is vulnerable to Poison and Steel attacks. It's resistant to Fighting, Bug, Dark and Dragon attacks. Its best counters are:
- Metagross (Bullet Punch + Meteor Mash)
- Deoxys (Attack Form) (Poison Jab + Zap Cannon)
- Dialga (Metal Claw + Iron Head)
- Roserade (Poison Jab + Sludge Bomb)
Zamazenta is a Fighting-type Pokémon, and is vulnerable to Flying, Psychic and Fair attacks. It's resistant to Rock, Bug and Dark attacks. Its best counters are:
- Calyrex (Shadow Rider) (Confusion + Psychic)
- Mewtwo (Confusion + Psystrike)

Mega Raid Bosses
August's Mega Raids will be available as follows:
- July 31-Aug. 10: Mega Abomasnow
- Aug. 10-18: Mega Scizor
- Aug. 18-25: Mega Slowbro
- Aug. 25-31: Mega Ampharos
Mega Abomasnow is a Grass and Ice-Type Pokémon, making it very weak to Fire attacks. Its best counters are:
- Reshiram (Fire Fang + Overheat)
- Chandelure (Fire Spin + Overheat)
- Darmanitan (Standard) (Fire Fang + Overheat)
- Volcarona (Fire Spin + Overheat)
Mega Scizor is a Bug and Steel-Type Pokémon particularly weak to Fire attacks. Its best counters are:
