MW2 Crossbow Glitch: What is it?

There is currently a glitch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 that allows players to instantly obtain the Crossbow for free.

MW2 Season 2 brought Ranked Play, more multiplayer maps, and new weapons to the game. The ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle, KV Broadside Shotgun, and Dual Kodachis Melee Weapon can all be unlocked for free in the new Battle Pass.

The Season 2 Crossbow can be acquired once a player completes the Path of the Ronin Event. They can also buy the blueprint from the Tracer Pack: Ballistic Love Bundle from the store. Now, for a quicker and cheaper option, players have discovered a glitch that will give them early, free access to the weapon.

MW2 Crossbow Glitch: What is it?

Although Activision has not punished any users yet, players who follow the upcoming steps to exploit the glitch and obtain the Crossbow risk their accounts being banned. We encourage players to either purchase the Crossbow or participate in the Path of the Ronin Event.

Here's how to use the glitch to obtain the Crossbow, per SyncingShiip on Reddit:

1. Start at the main Call of Duty screen.
2. Enter offline mode after hitting A/X on your controller quickly followed by B/Circle.
3. Go to Multiplayer and make a class for the Crossbow.
4. Hold LT/L2 to bring up the weapon attachment screen before once again holding LT/L2 to save the blueprint.
5. Go online and select either Multiplayer or Warzone.
6. Enter create a class and hold LT/L2 on the Crossbow until the gunsmith shows up.
7. Push B/Circle twice to unlock the Crossbow.

As of now, the glitch only works on console.
