Eye Chests are special containers scattered throughout Hogwarts, but opening them proves to be quite tricky.
With plenty of items to find and collect throughout the open world of Hogwarts Legacy, getting into every chest and container becomes an important mission. Some are easier to break into than others, but the Eye Chests in particular have left many players feeling stumped.
Luckily, there's an easy solution to opening up these bizarre Eye Chests in Hogwarts castle. Players will need to get their hands on a certain spell.
How to Unlock Eye Chests in Hogwarts Legacy
When a player approaches an Eye Chest, they'll get spooked and shut themselves off,, preventing players from doing anything else. To bypass this, players will need to use the Disillusionment spell.
The Disillusionment spell is obtained early on in the game's story, after starting the "Secrets of the Restricted Section" main quest. Essentially, this spell allows its user to move more stealthily and remain undetected by the Eye Chests.
Using the spell, move towards the chest and hit the Interact button when prompted to open it up. Each chest contains 500 Gold, making them a great way to get some cash together early on in the game.
Hogwarts Legacy launches on Feb. 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game launches on April 4 for PS4 and Xbox One, then July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
