As Apex Legends has a mixture of energy weapons and ballistic weapons, there will always be the challenge of ensuring the high magazine capacity offered by energy weapons doesn't make them overpowered.
However, players have recently discovered an exploit that managed to step around one guns biggest drawback: overheating.
The L-Star is an energy-based LMG weapon, capable of pumping out a good bit of damage while also having a decent overheat capacity. But why have a decent overheat capacity when you can have an infinite overheat capacity?
That's what one player asked themselves when they discovered an exploit allowing them to give the L-Star a basically infinite magazine. Going by the username Jacknoyan on Reddit, the user showed a video of them firing their L-Star and then simply removing the magazine, reinserting it, and resetting the cool down completely. This basically gives him an LMG with one enormous magazine which, combined with the LMG's already high burst damage, can be frustratingly overpowered.
This exploit is one that players need to use quickly before Respawn manages to crack down and nerf it. Respawn has seemingly had enough with players using exploits and has been issuing bans left and right, so those that want to try it out for a few matches better step on it before it gets removed.
