The launch of Apex Legends Season 13: Saviors is right around the corner and, perhaps as is to be expected, some in the community are pushing for some last-minute Legend changes they'd like to see implemented next.
In Defiance, Loba has likely been one of the more balanced characters in the game, maintaining a pick rate that suggests she's neither too weak nor too strong. However, that hasn't stopped players from cooking up some interesting buffs for the Translocating Thief, one of which caught the attention of Respawn Entertainment live balance designer John "JayBiebs" Larson on Twitter.
On May 3, an Apex Legends player reached out to Larson on Twitter, pitching an idea that Loba's Black Market Boutique ultimate ability allow her retrieve Teammate Banners in its proximity.
"Will Loba ever get to retrieve banners in ult?" @36Scarecrow tweeted. "I get banner retrieval should [be] risky but Loba ult means proximity, visual indicator and you can trace to the source based on item retrieval through it. Still risky, but gives her more power and team play."
About an hour later, Larson replied, saying he thinks Loba's kit doesn't really need that type of buff.
"Her ability to get her squad looted up throughout the match directly correlates to power in a BR," Larson tweeted, "and data aside, Iâd say itâs felt. Iâm stoked when thereâs a Loba on my team."
Of course, it will be interesting to see just what type of meta-altering changes, if any, will come to Apex Legends' character pool on May 10.
Buff or no, Loba should still be able the only Legend in the game that can reach the "secret OP room" found in Kings Canyon.
